IBM has now officially started supporting KDE on AIX, you can get it as binary package, and the necessary tools to build it yourself at http://www.ibm.com/servers/aix/products/aixos/linux/index.html. I have for reference purposes kept my old page on the server, but it's probably quite outdated.
